Abstract
The contribution’s subject is the analysis of the activities and work of Professor Jozef Lysý in the field of the formation and development of the Slovak left, more precisely, that part based on nationally conservative ideological positions. Although Jozef Lysý never entered real politics, his work (whether professionally academic or journalistic) significantly contributed to the formation and development of Slovak political thought, while influencing a number of his colleagues, especially younger ones, some of whom, directly or indirectly, became part of real Slovak politics. Lysý‘s work was rooted in left-wing positions for a long time, and in recent years, he has been part of discussions about its form. This topic will be discussed in the broader context of current social problems.
